Not sure who knows or doesn't, but approx. 16 months ago, God placed a heavy burden on our hearts for the orphan. We felt no void, or need of more children, however God showed us we needed to open our home and stretch us a little :) ...So following the call from God, we proceeded to walk in faith (nervously at times) and pursue the avenue of international adoption in Russia or Africa, however, God closed that door and made it very clear due to circumstances and criteria, we could not adopt out of country. So, we proceeded to contact local agencies to find out how it works here in America. It didn't take long to realize the orphans in America are the foster children of America.
We've been in child search now for 6 months. Last Thursday we received a call from our social worker regarding a 2 year old boy and 3 year old girl (brother and sister) saying that the social worker wants to set up a disclosure meeting to see if we might be a match for these little lambs. We also have another twist (God always loves to throw those in-hee hee). There has been a sibling set of 4 children, ages 2,3,4, and 5 whom we have seen in the books for 6 months. The social worker was going to probably have to split them up and we felt so strongly that we could find a way to make it work and take all of them (I know-ahhh!).
Well, tomorrow there will be a meeting to see which families their social worker wants to choose for this group (which actually include 2 more siblings in seperate foster homes, the four are in placement together at one foster home). We could get a phone call from this social worker as well. We are praying that God would show us beyond a shadow of a doubt what it is we're supposed to do. (how can you choose between children, you know??!!)
Would you please pray for our hearts, that we would be at peace and that God would lead us to the children He has for us without us feeling any regret or questions of doubt in our minds?? We greatly covet and appreciate your prayers to the "Throne of Grace" on our behalf.
So in a nutshell (maybe a big nutshell) , that's our story...Or shall I say, God's story:) ) Sorry for the length, I tried my best to keep it as short as possible :)...We pray also that you too, will rejoice with us over the small lives that will be adopted!!!
